SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John K. "Jack" Sackfield of Rock Island, who passed away on August 8, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Jack Sackfield was born to John and Edith Bakken Sackfield in Rock Island on September 25, 1940; he graduated from Rock Island High School in 1958; he married Linda Moore Alvarez in Rock Island on December 3, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Jack Sackfield was employed at IH Farmall in Rock Island until he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving from 1965 to 1967; he continued to work at IH Farmall until 1985; he was then employed at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Jack Sackfield was a member of the Rock Island/ Moline American Legion Post 246; he enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada; and

WHEREAS, Jack Sackfield was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sharon Adams; and his brother, Warren Gale; and

WHEREAS, Jack Sackfield is survived by his wife, Linda; his stepchildren, Jim (JoAnn) Erickson and Brad Erickson; his step-grandchildren, Anthony, Jeff, and Brandon; his step-great-grandchildren, Sandy, Ian, and Logan; his brother, Mike (Evelyn) Sackfield; his brother-in-law, Tom Adams; his sister-in-law, Connie Gale; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John K. "Jack" Sackfield and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Sackfield as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
