SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Ann Pohlman of Jerseyville, who passed away on November 26, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann was born on the family farm in Jerseyville County on June 27, 1928 to John H. Pille and Mary Mae (Shines) Pille; she attended Jersey Township High School and married John "Buggs" Bernard Pohlman on February 19, 1955 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann worked in her early years at what became known as General Telephone and then as a stay-at-home mom to raise her seven children; as they got older, she began working for Jersey Township until retiring at the age of 89 in October of 2017; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John "Buggs" Bernard Pohlman; her son, Patrick J. Pohlman; and her parents, John and Mary Mae Pille; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Michael and Eileen Pohlman, Kenny and Pam Pohlman, Paul and Cory Pohlman, Steve and Brandi Pohlman, Mark Pohlman, Mary and Mike Nyberg, and Nancy and Mike Ferguson; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John J. "Bud" and Shirley Pille; and all of Jerseyville; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Ann Pohlman and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Ann Pohlman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
