SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary Ann Pohlman of Jerseyville, who
4passed away on November 26, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ann was born on the family farm in
6Jerseyville County on June 27, 1928 to John H. Pille and Mary
7Mae (Shines) Pille; she attended Jersey Township High School
8and married John "Buggs" Bernard Pohlman on February 19, 1955
9at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary Ann worked in her early years at what became
11known as General Telephone and then as a stay-at-home mom to
12raise her seven children; as they got older, she began working
13for Jersey Township until retiring at the age of 89 in October
14of 2017; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of
1664 years, John "Buggs" Bernard Pohlman; her son, Patrick J.
17Pohlman; and her parents, John and Mary Mae Pille; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Ann is survived by her seven children and
19their spouses, Michael and Eileen Pohlman, Kenny and Pam
20Pohlman, Paul and Cory Pohlman, Steve and Brandi Pohlman, Mark
21Pohlman, Mary and Mike Nyberg, and Nancy and Mike Ferguson; ten

1grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law
2and sister-in-law, John J. "Bud" and Shirley Pille; and all of
3Jerseyville; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Mary Ann Pohlman and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Mary Ann Pohlman as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
