SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph A. "Joe" Fiske, who passed away on December 25, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Joe Fiske served in the U.S. Army during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Joe Fiske retired from Caterpillar after 36 years as a power plant operator; and

WHEREAS, Joe Fiske was affectionately known as "Bud" and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; he was a member of Joliet Moose Lodge #300 and was past president of The Retirees Club of IAM Lodge 851; he bowled on the senior bowling league at Joliet Town and Country Lanes and was still bowling twice a week up until recently; he also enjoyed golfing and playing euchre on Tuesday nights at the New Lenox American Legion; he was a former Little League manager in Elwood and a former precinct committeeman in Jackson Township; and

WHEREAS, Joe Fiske was preceded in death by his wife of over 49 years, Bonnie (Wietting); his daughter, Patricia Sacco; his brother, Donald Ryan; his sisters, Rosemary Benedict and Elizabeth Lander; his parents, Joseph and Rosella Fiske; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Gordon Randolph; and

WHEREAS, Joe Fiske is survived by his son, Michael (Nancy) Fiske; his sister, Idamae Vertin; his son-in-law, Raymond Sacco; his brother-in-law, Jerry (Karen) Randolph; his grandchildren, Tony, Chris (Jennifer), and Nick Sacco, Kevin (Susan) and Mark (Erin) Fiske, and Laura (Tim) Streit; his great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Sacco and Gresham, Owen, Haddon, Frances, Oliver, and Everly Fiske; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph A. "Joe" Fiske and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joe Fiske as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
