SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph A. "Joe" Fiske, who passed away on
4December 25, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joe Fiske served in the U.S. Army during World War
6II; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Joe Fiske retired from Caterpillar after 36 years
8as a power plant operator; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joe Fiske was affectionately known as "Bud" and
10was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; he was a member of Joliet
11Moose Lodge #300 and was past president of The Retirees Club of
12IAM Lodge 851; he bowled on the senior bowling league at Joliet
13Town and Country Lanes and was still bowling twice a week up
14until recently; he also enjoyed golfing and playing euchre on
15Tuesday nights at the New Lenox American Legion; he was a
16former Little League manager in Elwood and a former precinct
17committeeman in Jackson Township; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joe Fiske was preceded in death by his wife of
19over 49 years, Bonnie (Wietting); his daughter, Patricia Sacco;
20his brother, Donald Ryan; his sisters, Rosemary Benedict and
21Elizabeth Lander; his parents, Joseph and Rosella Fiske; and

1his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Gordon Randolph;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Joe Fiske is survived by his son, Michael (Nancy)
4Fiske; his sister, Idamae Vertin; his son-in-law, Raymond
5Sacco; his brother-in-law, Jerry (Karen) Randolph; his
6grandchildren, Tony, Chris (Jennifer), and Nick Sacco, Kevin
7(Susan) and Mark (Erin) Fiske, and Laura (Tim) Streit; his
8great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Sacco and Gresham, Owen,
9Haddon, Frances, Oliver, and Everly Fiske; and numerous nieces
10and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Joseph A. "Joe" Fiske and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Joe Fiske as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
