SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Salvatore Leopardo on August 24, 2018 at the age of 88; and

WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo was born on May 5, 1930; and

WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo attended Woodrow Wilson Junior College (Kennedy-King College in Chicago); and

WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo worked for the General Telephone Corporation in Northlake for 34 years, where he rose through the ranks from a position on the assembly line to become a high level executive; and

WHEREAS, After leaving the General Telephone Corporation, Salvatore Leopardo helped his son, Jim Leopardo, form the family construction business, where he served as the vice president; and

WHEREAS, With over 500 employees and a half billion dollars in projects each year, Salvatore Leopardo helped foster the growth of the company and mentored many of their key executives; and

WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo believed in strong family values and led by example with a loving relationship with his wife of 67 years, Mary; and

WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn (Jim) Damron, and his parents; and

WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo is survived by his spouse, Mary (Calleia); his children, James A. (JoBeth) Leopardo, John (Michelle) Leopardo, Gary Leopardo, and Mike (Christine) Leopardo; his grandchildren, Nick (Sylvia) Leopardo, Curtis (Cara) Leopardo, Anthony (Amanda) Leopardo, Jack (Brooke) Leopardo, Sam Leopardo, Danielle Leopardo, and Lana Leopardo; his great-grandchildren, Ava Leopardo, Rocco Leopardo, Drake Leopardo, Winston Leopardo, and Lynn Leopardo; his brother, Samuel (Marj) Leopardo; and his nieces, Elizabeth (Rodney) Driscoll and Katie (Frank) Asen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Salvatore Leopardo and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Salvatore Leopardo as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
