SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Salvatore Leopardo on August 24, 2018 at
4the age of 88; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo was born on May 5, 1930; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo attended Woodrow Wilson Junior
7College (Kennedy-King College in Chicago); and
 
8    WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo worked for the General
9Telephone Corporation in Northlake for 34 years, where he rose
10through the ranks from a position on the assembly line to
11become a high level executive; and
 
12    WHEREAS, After leaving the General Telephone Corporation,
13Salvatore Leopardo helped his son, Jim Leopardo, form the
14family construction business, where he served as the vice
15president; and
 
16    WHEREAS, With over 500 employees and a half billion dollars
17in projects each year, Salvatore Leopardo helped foster the
18growth of the company and mentored many of their key
19executives; and

1    WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo believed in strong family
2values and led by example with a loving relationship with his
3wife of 67 years, Mary; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo was preceded in death by his
5daughter, Lynn (Jim) Damron, and his parents; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Salvatore Leopardo is survived by his spouse, Mary
7(Calleia); his children, James A. (JoBeth) Leopardo, John
8(Michelle) Leopardo, Gary Leopardo, and Mike (Christine)
9Leopardo; his grandchildren, Nick (Sylvia) Leopardo, Curtis
10(Cara) Leopardo, Anthony (Amanda) Leopardo, Jack (Brooke)
11Leopardo, Sam Leopardo, Danielle Leopardo, and Lana Leopardo;
12his great-grandchildren, Ava Leopardo, Rocco Leopardo, Drake
13Leopardo, Winston Leopardo, and Lynn Leopardo; his brother,
14Samuel (Marj) Leopardo; and his nieces, Elizabeth (Rodney)
15Driscoll and Katie (Frank) Asen; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Salvatore Leopardo and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Salvatore Leopardo as an expression
