SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bobbie Gene "Hey Guy" Mann of Decatur, who passed away on January 7, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was born in Decatur to Emmett and Margie Suttles Mann on September 27, 1941; he married Clara Mann on September 29, 1972; and

WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was the area's longest-serving political captain; he served on the Democratic Committee, the Lincoln Board of Trustees, and Partners in Education; he was a member of Laborers' Local 159 for 48 years, including four years as president; In 1965, he sold the first Ford Mustang in Decatur; and

WHEREAS, Bobbie Man was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting Illini men's basketball team; he enjoyed playing basketball with friends; and

WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara; and his nine siblings; and

WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Shannon) Fisher; his son, Scott Mann; his stepson, Scott (Michelle) Muth; his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; his special nephew, Stephen Mann; and his special friends, Kenneth Cribbs, Duane Jackson, B.J., and Tammy Butler; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bobbie Gene "Hey Guy" Mann and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bobbie Mann as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
