SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bobbie Gene "Hey Guy" Mann of Decatur,
4who passed away on January 7, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was born in Decatur to Emmett and
6Margie Suttles Mann on September 27, 1941; he married Clara
7Mann on September 29, 1972; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was the area's longest-serving
9political captain; he served on the Democratic Committee, the
10Lincoln Board of Trustees, and Partners in Education; he was a
11member of Laborers' Local 159 for 48 years, including four
12years as president; In 1965, he sold the first Ford Mustang in
13Decatur; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bobbie Man was an avid fan of the St. Louis
15Cardinals and the Fighting Illini men's basketball team; he
16enjoyed playing basketball with friends; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was preceded in death by his parents;
18his wife, Clara; and his nine siblings; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann is survived by his daughter, Jennifer
20(Shannon) Fisher; his son, Scott Mann; his stepson, Scott

1(Michelle) Muth; his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews;
2his special nephew, Stephen Mann; and his special friends,
3Kenneth Cribbs, Duane Jackson, B.J., and Tammy Butler;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Bobbie Gene "Hey Guy" Mann and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Bobbie Mann as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
