1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 671
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 671 as follows:
3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:
5 "Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is
6 amended by adding Section 115-21 as follows:
7 (725 ILCS 5/115-21 new)
8 Sec. 115-21. Exclusion of witnesses. At the request of
9 a party, the court shall order witnesses excluded so that
10 they cannot hear the testimony of other witnesses, and it may
11 make the order on its own motion. This Section does not
12 authorize exclusion of a party who is a natural person, (2)
13 an officer or employee of a party that is not a natural
14 person designated as its representative by its attorney, (3)
15 a person whose presence is shown by a party to be essential
16 to the presentation of the party's cause, or (4) a person
17 authorized by statute or case law to be present.
18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19 becoming law.".
