1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 593
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 593 by inserting
3 the following immediately above the effective date Section:
4 "Section 55. In addition to any other amount
5 appropriated for these purposes, the following amounts, or so
6 much of those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, are
7 appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the State Board
8 of Education for the objects and purposes named:
9 For costs associated with regional
10 and local Optional Education Programs
11 for dropouts, those at risk of dropping
12 out, and Alternative Education Programs
13 for chronic truants $17,500,000
14 For funding the Early Childhood Block
15 Grant pursuant to Section 1C-2 of
16 the School Code $16,000,000
17 Section 60. In addition to any other amount appropriated
18 for this purpose, the amount of $10,000,000, or so much of
19 that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the
20 General Revenue Fund to the State Board of Education to fund
21 block grants to school districts for school safety and
22 educational improvement programs pursuant to Section 2-3.51.5
