1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 258
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 258 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Meat and Poultry Inspection Act by
5 changing Section 2.6."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Meat and Poultry Inspection Act is
9 amended by changing Section 2.6 as follows:
10 (225 ILCS 650/2.6) (from Ch. 56 1/2, par. 302.6)
11 Sec. 2.6. Animals. "Animals" means cattle, calves,
12 American bison (buffalo), catalo, cattalo, sheep, swine,
13 domestic deer, domestic elk, domestic antelope, domestic
14 reindeer, ratites, water buffalo and goats. For the purposes
15 of this Act, domestic deer, domestic elk, domestic antelope
16 and domestic reindeer mean live deer, elk, antelope and
17 reindeer that are delivered to and slaughtered at a licensed
18 establishment.
