1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 281
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 281 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Southwestern Illinois Development
5 Authority Act by changing Section 10."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Southwestern Illinois Development
9 Authority Act is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
10 (70 ILCS 520/10) (from Ch. 85, par. 6160)
11 Sec. 10. The Authority may by ordinance designate a
12 portion of the territorial jurisdiction of the Authority for
13 certification as an Enterprise Zone under the Illinois
14 Enterprise Zone Act in addition to any other enterprise zones
15 which may be created under that Act, which area shall have
16 all the privileges and rights of an Enterprise Zone pursuant
17 to the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act, but which shall not be
18 counted in determining the number of Enterprise Zones to be
19 created in any year pursuant to that Act.
20 Prior to January 1, 1999, the Authority may by ordinance
21 designate a portion of the territorial jurisdiction of the

1 Authority located in the southeastern portion of Chouteau
2 Township and the southwestern portion of Edwardsville
3 Township along FAR 310 for certification as an Enterprise
4 Zone under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act in addition to
5 any other enterprise zones which may be created under that
6 Act, which area shall have all the privileges and rights of
7 an Enterprise Zone under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act,
8 but which shall not be counted in determining the number of
9 Enterprise Zones to be created in any year pursuant to that
10 Act.

12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13 becoming law.".
