Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

Sec. 1-85. Home Illinois Program.

Subject to appropriation, the Department of Human Services shall establish the Home Illinois Program. The Home Illinois Program shall focus on preventing and ending homelessness in Illinois and may include, but not be limited to, homeless prevention, emergency and transitional housing, rapid rehousing, outreach, capital investment, and related services and supports for individuals at risk or experiencing homelessness. The Department may establish program eligibility criteria and other program requirements by rule. The Department of Human Services may consult with the Capital Development Board, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and the Illinois Housing Development Authority in the management and disbursement of funds for capital related projects. The Capital Development Board, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and the Illinois Housing Development Authority shall act in a consulting role only for the evaluation of applicants, scoring of applicants, or administration of the grant program.
