1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1671
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1671 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental
5 Disabilities Administrative Act is amended by adding Section
6 8.1 as follows:

7     (20 ILCS 1705/8.1 new)
8     Sec. 8.1. State-operated developmental centers;
9 readmissions. Notwithstanding any other law or rule to the
10 contrary, a State-operated developmental center funded,
11 certified, or licensed by the Department shall readmit, upon
12 request, any former resident who transferred to and currently
13 receives services at a licensed community-integrated living
14 arrangement, if the former resident or the former resident's
15 family or legal guardian determines that the former resident's
16 medical needs cannot be met by the program of services
