| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Thomas R. "Tom" Martin of Bloomington, | 4 | | who passed away on August 23, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tom Martin was born in Peoria to Raymond V. and | 6 | | Marie Rassi Martin on June 17, 1949; he served in the U.S. Army | 7 | | during the Vietnam War and married Jessica R. "Jay" Randolph in | 8 | | Morton on June 15, 1968; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Tom Martin worked at the family furniture store, | 10 | | the Martin Furniture Company, in East Peoria for many years; in | 11 | | 1995, he founded Martin's Home Furniture in Bloomington and was | 12 | | co-owner; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Tom Martin was a member of the Bloomington | 14 | | Apostolic Christian Church, where he served in various | 15 | | capacities; he and his wife enjoyed traveling; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Tom Martin was preceded in death by his parents | 17 | | and his stepmother, Eunice Martin; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Tom Martin is survived by his wife, Jessica; his | 19 | | children, Brad (Kara) Martin and Lisa Kneip; eight | 20 | | grandchildren; his brother, Dean Martin; his sisters, Janice |

| 3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 4 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 5 | | Thomas R. "Tom" Martin and extend our sincere condolences to | 6 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 7 | | further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to the family of Tom Martin as an expression of our | 10 | | deepest sympathy.
