| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert Adolph "Bob" Kotz, who passed away | 4 | | on July 3, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kotz was born in Chicago to Adolph and Casmira | 6 | | Kotz on August 22, 1942; he dedicated his life to his country, | 7 | | his church, and his family; he was a Captain in the United | 8 | | States Marine Corps and started the first Redeye Hand-Held | 9 | | Infrared Missile Platoon at Camp Lejeune; he fought in the | 10 | | Vietnam War, where he was stationed in both Okinawa, Japan and | 11 | | Danang, Vietnam; after the war, he pursued his Master of | 12 | | Business Administration at Rutgers University; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kotz was an executive in the franchising | 14 | | industry; throughout his career, he managed over 1,700 tax and | 15 | | auto transmission franchisees; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kotz was dedicated to his faith, and served | 17 | | the Catholic church as a devout parishioner and by training | 18 | | altar servers; he was an active member of the Coweta-Fayette | 19 | | Marine Corps League and took part in their annual Toys for Tots | 20 | | drive; he spoke of his time in the United States Marines and | 21 | | having both of his daughters graduate from Georgia Tech as his | 22 | | greatest achievements; and

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kotz is survived by his wife, Beth; his | 3 | | daughters, Megan Mitchell and Monica Kotz; and his | 4 | | granddaughter, Olivia; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Robert Adolph "Bob" Kotz and extend our sincere condolences to | 8 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Bob Kotz as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
