| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Michael A. Tosto Sr. of Elgin, formerly | 4 | | of Elk Grove Village, who passed away on June 23, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. was a World War II Army Air | 6 | | Force veteran; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, For much of his working career, Michael Tosto Sr. | 8 | | worked as a construction foreman and superintendent on major | 9 | | underground construction projects, approximately 40 percent of | 10 | | which were at O'Hare Airport; in his retirement, Chicago | 11 | | Department of Aviation officials would call to draw on his vast | 12 | | historical knowledge of airport construction; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. brought his construction | 14 | | expertise to his role as an Elk Grove Village trustee, a | 15 | | position he held for 23 years; he was also a volunteer | 16 | | firefighter for ten years, and a charter member of the B.P.O. | 17 | | Elks Lodge Number 2423 of Elk Grove; he served on a church | 18 | | committee that helped found and build St. Julian Eymard; he was | 19 | | known for his storytelling skills; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. was preceded in death by his | 21 | | parents; his brother, Louis F. Tosto; his first wife, Eleanor |

| 1 | | "Betty" Caster; and his second wife, Dolores A. Solare; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Michael Tosto Sr. is survived by his children, Fr. | 3 | | Louis Tosto, Rita Tosto, and Michael A. (Dina) Tosto Jr.; his | 4 | | grandchildren, Isabella and Juliet; his sisters, Carmella | 5 | | (late Joseph) Leto and Connie (Arthur) Fumarolo; his | 6 | | sister-in-law, Marjorie Edna (Larry) Theriault; and his many | 7 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Michael A. Tosto Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Michael Tosto Sr. as an expression | 15 | | of our deepest sympathy.
