| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Reed "Dick" Andress of | 4 | | Pittsfield, who passed away on November 23, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andress was born in Rockford on October 29, | 6 | | 1935 to Reed and Dorothy Tripp Andress; he graduated from West | 7 | | Rockford High School and enlisted in the United States Army in | 8 | | 1954, during the Korean conflict, earning the rank of Sergeant | 9 | | upon his discharge in 1956; in 1960, he graduated from the | 10 | | University of Illinois with a degree in dairy science and | 11 | | operated a dairy farm outside of St. Charles; he married Rita | 12 | | Barber on September 8, 1975 in Hannibal, Missouri; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andress worked as a salesman for over 18 | 14 | | years at Armour Fertilizer and Chemical, now known as US Steel | 15 | | Agri Chemicals, leaving the company in 1982; he later worked | 16 | | for Duesterhaus Fertilizer and Chemical Co. of Quincy for 16 | 17 | | years and for Crop Production Services, retiring in 2009; in | 18 | | the mid 1970s he owned and operated the Pike Marine Boat Store | 19 | | in Pittsfield, Equipment Leasing, and Andress Real Estate and | 20 | | Rental Properties; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andress attended Calvary Baptist Church in | 22 | | Pittsfield and was a member of the National Rifle Association |

| 1 | | and Pittsfield American Legion Post No. 152; in his earlier | 2 | | years, he was a Cub Master for Pack 18; in 1973, he built a | 3 | | cabin on the Illinois River where many memories were made | 4 | | boating and spending time with the family; he attended many | 5 | | Saukee football games with his buddies, always standing and | 6 | | watching the game from the big rock at the PHS football | 7 | | stadium; spending time with his family was important to him and | 8 | | he enjoyed the times spent with his family watching football | 9 | | games at home; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andress was preceded in death by his parents | 11 | | and his son, Kent Andress; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dick Andress is survived by his wife, Rita; his | 13 | | son, Scott (Anita) Andress; his daughter, Kristin Andress; | 14 | | Teresa (Reggie) Kunzeman and James (Kim) Lanhum; his | 15 | | grandchildren, Christopher Lanhum, Evan (Kimber) Ralph, | 16 | | Candice (fiance, Seth Daniel) Lanhum, Bryce Frieden, and Morgan | 17 | | Frieden; his 4 great-grandchildren, Dante and Toni Ralph, and | 18 | | Bryleigh and Luke Frieden; and his sister, Nancy Weart; | 19 | | therefore, be it
