| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Miles Ellsworth Wallingford, who passed | 4 | | away on November 15, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Miles Wallingford was born in East Moline on March | 6 | | 23, 1919 to Warder and Ida Wallingford; he served in the United | 7 | | States Navy as a storekeeper during World War II from 1943 to | 8 | | 1945 on Midway Island; he married Eleanor Anderson on September | 9 | | 26, 1953 in Moline; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Miles Wallingford worked at the Rock Island | 11 | | Arsenal, the Roy Roth Pump Company, and Rock Island Lines, | 12 | | where he worked as a switchman and served as a union | 13 | | representative; he served on the Carbon Cliff Village Board, | 14 | | the TIF Committee, the School Board, and was a volunteer | 15 | | fireman and Optimist Club member; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Miles Wallingford loved life, family, friends, | 17 | | music, reading, playing cards, repairing cars, lawn mowers, and | 18 | | anything mechanical; he also loved nature, hunting, fishing, | 19 | | and gardening; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Miles Wallingford was preceded in death by his | 21 | | wife, Eleanor; his parents, Ida and Warder Wallingford; his |

| 1 | | sisters, Mary Brown and Winifred Roth; and several wonderful | 2 | | relatives and friends; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Miles Wallingford is survived by his children, | 4 | | Gene (Ann) Reiling, Penny (Lee Seitelman) Wallingford, and | 5 | | Minetta (David I. Rubin) Wallingford; his grandchildren, | 6 | | Brielle Seitelman, Victoria Seitelman, and Katie Seitelman; | 7 | | his siblings, Kathleen DeRoo and Richard Wallingford (Helen); | 8 | | his great friend, Linda Bredberg, who was like family; and the | 9 | | many other close friends and relatives who loved him; | 10 | | therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Miles Ellsworth Wallingford, and extend our sincere | 14 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 15 | | him; and be it further
