AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1250

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1250, on page 1, line 1, by replacing "local government" with "civil law"; and

on page 1, by replacing lines 4 through 11 with the following:

"Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by adding Section 15-1701.5 as follows:

(735 ILCS 5/15-1701.5 new)

Sec. 15-1701.5. Foreclosure; frozen pipe prevention. If the foreclosure of residential real estate has commenced and the property is unoccupied, the mortgagee in possession, or a creditor or other lien holder in possession pursuant to court order, must winterize the residential real estate to prevent frozen pipes.".
