SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Keith Richard "Rich" DeSchepper of Milan, who passed away on December 9, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Rich DeSchepper was born to John and Grace Bosold DeSchepper in Rock Island County on July 30, 1928; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Ina Wells in East Moline; and

WHEREAS, Rich DeSchepper worked at the Collinson Stone Quarry after he returned from his Army service, retiring as plant manager at the age of 87; and

WHEREAS, Rich DeSchepper loved to travel and was an avid race car fan, especially of Indy Cars; he was thrilled to be a part of the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities; and

WHEREAS, Rich DeSchepper was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and his brother and sister-in-law, Allan and Marilyn DeSchepper; and

WHEREAS, Rich DeSchepper is survived by his daughter, Amy (Jeff) Goodnight; his grandchildren, Shannon (Cole) Griffin, Shawn (Lauren) Hall, and Jacy (Alec Hayes) Goodnight; his great-grandchildren, Brinlee, Briley, Charlotte, Ayla, and Gentry; and his nieces and nephews, Greg (Gayle Lambert) DeSchepper, Debbie (Dan) Till, and Chris (Lori) Petersen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Keith Richard "Rich" DeSchepper and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rich DeSchepper as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
