SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Carl F. Clough Jr. of Rock Island, who
4passed away on September 19, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Clough was born to Carl Sr. and Mary
6(Schmidt) Clough in Rock Island on December 31, 1922; he
7served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; he
8married Florence Prucnell in LaSalle on October 12, 1946; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Carl Clough worked as a machinist at the Rock
10Island Arsenal until retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Carl Clough was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
12Church in Rock Island for over 100 years; he was also a member
13of Moline Legion Post 246; he enjoyed woodworking and golfing;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Carl Clough was preceded in death by his wife;
16his parents; his granddaughter, Carly Behncke; and his
17sisters, Mary Elizabeth, Genevieve, and Madeline; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Carl Clough is survived by his children, Kathleen
19(Laird) Behncke, Jeffrey (Joan) Clough, and David (Tracy)
20Clough; his grandchildren, Heather (Jeff) Yuknis, Holly

1(Donny) Forsyth, Ivy Clough, Matthew (Kelli) Clough, Mark
2(Jami) Clough, Corey (Michael) Ater, and Lea Behncke; and his
3great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Jacob, Cole, Violet, Ryder,
4Cash, Evelyn, and Ava; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Carl F. Clough Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Carl Clough as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
