SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George Raymond Allen III of Alton, who passed away on April 8, 2023; and

WHEREAS, George Allen was born to George Raymond and Yvette (Hays) Allen II in Taylorville on February 10, 1993; he graduated from high school and completed two years of college; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2011 to 2015; and

WHEREAS, George Allen met his significant other, Suzi Johnes, more than 11 years ago, and they had one daughter, Leah Allen; and

WHEREAS, George Allen served as a volunteer fireman with the Rivers Pointe Fire Department in West Alton; and

WHEREAS, George Allen enjoyed fishing, playing video games, and working on cars; most of all, he loved playing with his daughter; and

WHEREAS, George Allen was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, George Allen is survived by his significant other, Suzi Johnes; his daughter, Leah Allen; his mother; and his siblings, Megan Hays, Matthew Emerson, and Mitchell Emerson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George Raymond Allen III and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Allen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
