SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Paul A. Schneider Sr. of Joliet, who
4passed away on April 16, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was born to Michael and Shirley
6(Nink) Schneider in Joliet on November 3, 1934; he graduated
7from St. John the Baptist Grade School and Joliet Township
8High School; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Concetta
9"Connie" Albert on November 3, 1956; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was known as "Joliet's Door Man",
11operating Paul A. Schneider Co., Garage Doors & Electric
12Openers in Joliet from 1972 to 1993; and
 
13    WHEREAS, After retiring, Paul Schneider and Connie
14traveled around the country in their RV for two years before
15settling in Florida; they returned to Joliet to be nearer to
16family in 2008; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was ordained as a lay deacon for
18the Joliet Diocese in 1988; he served at St. John the Baptist
19and Holy Family Parishes in Joliet, and he additionally served
20at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Clermont, Florida; and

1    WHEREAS, Paul Schneider had several passions, including
2taking his family on incredible adventures around the country
3and abroad, photography, flying his airplanes, and his faith;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was preceded in death by his
6parents; his sister, Norma Jean Gage; and his brother, Richard
7J. Gage; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Paul Schneider is survived by his wife of 66
9years, Connie; his children, Paul (Linda) Schneider Jr., Jean
10(Matt) Collins, Janet (William) Buss, and Michael (Carol)
11Schneider; his 12 grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren,
12with three more arriving this fall; his sister, Marilyn (Dr.
13Thomas) Price; his brother-in-law, Jack Albert; his
14sister-in-law, Norma Gage; and his many nieces and nephews;
15therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Paul A. Schneider Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to
19his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Paul Schneider as an expression of
