SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the deaths of Ashly and Vince Maynard, mother and son, of Wood River who both passed away on November 20, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Ashly Maynard was born in Graham, Texas to Neil and Terri (Hellemeyer) McInnis Jr. on January 30, 1985; she married Will Maynard in Alton on July 7, 2007; she graduated from Roxana High School in 2003; she worked at Rock the Spectrum in Edwardsville and occasionally at Child Horizons in Roxana; and

WHEREAS, Ashly Maynard was a member of Roxana Church of the Nazarene; she was active in the Bethalto Mothers of Preschoolers Group; she participated in the fine arts at Roxana High School and was a member of Thespian Troupe #556 at Roxana; she was very active in helping people who had children with special needs and was a strong advocate for them; and

WHEREAS, Vince Maynard was born in Maryville to Will and Ashly (McInnis) Maynard on October 12, 2012; he was a first-grader at LeClaire Elementary School in Edwardsville; and

WHEREAS, Vince Maynard loved playing at the park, jumping on trampolines, swinging, swimming, gymnastics, Pixar movies, and anything Toy Story; and

WHEREAS, Ashly and Vince Maynard were preceded in death by Ashly's paternal grandparents; and Ashly's maternal grandfather, Clark Lincoln; and

WHEREAS, Ashly and Vince Maynard are survived by Will Maynard, Lucy Maynard, Neil and Terri (Hellemeyer) McInnis Jr., Chelsy McInnis (companion Ken Earley), Neil McInnis III (companion Heather Rose), Betty Pitchford, Rex and Mary Maynard, Andrew and Carrie Maynard, Alexander Maynard, and Kathern Lincoln; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the passing of Ashly and Vince Maynard and extend our sincere condolences to their family, friends, and all who knew and loved them; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ashly and Vince Maynard as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
