SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy M. Davis, who passed away on May 16, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis was born in Chicago to Thomas and Mary (Sheridan) Cassidy; she attended Mercy High School and graduated from the Little Company of Mary Hospital School of Nursing; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis worked on the pediatric nursing staff at St. Joseph Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis had a passion for helping others; she was devoted to her family, her patients, and her faith; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John L. Davis; her parents; and her siblings, Thomas Cassidy and JoAnn (Cassidy) Cooney; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Davis is survived by her children, John T. Davis, Madonna (Mike) Gale, Gerard (Crystal) Davis, Kathleen (Len) Capristo, and Dennis (Claudia) Davis; her grandchildren, Michael (Martha) Gale, Andrew (Allison) Davis, Patrick (Camille) Gale, Nicholas (Sara) Davis, Gabrielle Davis, Ryne Davis, Sheridan Davis, and Tyler Capristo; her great-grandchildren, Jack Gale, Luke Gale, Robert Gale, and John Davis; her siblings, Joseph (Margaret) Cassidy and Carol (Chet) Andrews; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dorothy M. Davis and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Davis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
