SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betty C. (O'Reilly) McShane, who passed
4away on March 13, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty McShane was born in South Wilmington to
6Joseph John and Catherine (Gorman) O'Reilly on December 1,
71925; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Betty McShane's love of math helped her start her
9career in banking; she was the Home Loan Officer at Joliet
10Savings & Loan in Joliet; she also worked at the Joliet
11Walgreens in the Jefferson Square Mall for 16 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Betty McShane was a member of the VFW #367 Ladies
13Auxiliary, Joliet Elks Lodge #296, and the St. Paul the Apostle
14Paulites; she and her husband raised their family at St.
15Patrick Church Parish, where she was a member of the CCW and 55
16Club; her family was her greatest joy; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Betty McShane was preceded in death by her
18parents; her husband, Kenneth "Ozzie" Jerome McShane; her
19brother, Gorman Joseph (Helen) O'Reilly; her sisters, Audrey
20(Langdon) Meade, Dee (Len) Elberts, Virginia (Fred) MacKay, and
21LaVerne (Ken) Hanks; and her brother-in-law, Ed Legan; and

1    WHEREAS, Betty McShane is survived by her children, Pat
2(Denise) McShane, Kate McShane, and Kevin (Kate) McShane; her
3grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, Ryan, Jack, Nora, Peter, and
4Kevin; her stepgrandchildren, Jamie and Jenny; her
5godchildren, Paul Elberts, Casey Hanks, Robert MacKay, John
6Legan, and Jerry McShane; her sister, Joan Legan; and her many
7nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Betty C. (O'Reilly) McShane and extend our sincere condolences
11to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Betty McShane as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
