SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jimmie Wayne Fairbanks of Bloomington,
4who passed away on April 1, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jimmie Fairbanks was born to Thomas and Dora
6Williams Fairbanks in Ottawa on October 19, 1930; he married
7Sally Benjamin; after her death, he later married Evelyn Alwes;
8he was a Korean war veteran who served in the U.S. Army from
91951 to 1953; and
 
10    WHEREAS, For nearly 40 years, Jimmie Fairbanks was a
11self-employed painter who owned and operated the Fairbanks
12Painting Company in Bloomington; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jimmie Fairbanks was a member of Our Redeemer
14Lutheran Church, the Bloomington VFW, and the Lakeside Country
15Club; he was an Exalted Ruler in the Elks Lodge; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jimmie Fairbanks enjoyed golfing and was an avid
17Cardinals baseball fan; he was a loving father, great brother,
18and friend; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jimmie Fairbanks was preceded in death by his
20parents; his first wife, Sally; his second wife, Evelyn; his

1brother, Steve; and his sister, Mary Anne; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Jimmie Fairbanks is survived by his three
3children, Daniel (Patricia Hesch) Fairbanks, David Fairbanks,
4and Jami (Marvin) Rexroat; his three grandchildren, David
5Fairbanks, Natalie (Nathan) Vargas, and John Vargas; and his
6sister, Ellen (Steve) Klotz; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Jimmie Wayne Fairbanks and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jimmie Fairbanks as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
