SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Michael Daggett of Colona, who passed away on August 13, 2020; and

WHEREAS, John Daggett was born to John Morton and Millie Lou (Whitlow) Daggett in Moline on August 11, 1959; he served in the U.S. Navy for over nine years, serving with the International Peacekeeping force in Lebanon and as a Chief Master of Arms; and

WHEREAS, John Daggett worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Milan; he retired in March of 2020; and

WHEREAS, John Daggett was a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance and of the Colona American Legion; and

WHEREAS, John Daggett enjoyed boating, fishing, photography, and collecting artifacts; above all else, his family was the most important thing to him, especially his children; and

WHEREAS, John Daggett was preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, Bart Chilton; and

WHEREAS, John Daggett is survived by his two children, Elissa (fiancé Christopher Rostenbach) and Theo Daggett; his mother, Millie Daggett; and his two sisters, Sherry Chilton and Cathy (Dean) Daconto; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Michael Daggett and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Daggett as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
