SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alvino A. Terronez of Silvis, who passed
4away on June 28, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez was born in Silvis to Benito and
6Felisa Anguiano Terronez on March 1, 1930; he served in the
7U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952; he married Elisabeth Hahn in
8Augsburg, Germany on May 29, 1952, and they settled in Silvis;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez retired in 1984 from
11International Harvester after 30 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez was a lifetime member and past
13commander of VFW Post 8890 in East Moline; he was a devout
14lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in
15Silvis; he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching
16sports; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa
17Hawkeyes; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez was preceded in death by his
19parents; his wife, Elisabeth; his sisters, Ezekiea, Theresa,
20Gabriela, Jesse, Mary, Antonia, and Angela; his brother,
21Guadalupe; and his in-laws, Rebecca, Yvonne, Louis, Anthony,

1Macario, Joe, John, Julian, Jesus, Marcelo, and Isias; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Alvino Terronez is survived by his children,
3Alvino Terronez Jr., Gunter (Carol) Terronez, Alfred (Sue)
4Terronez, Rosemarie (Steven) Hernandez, and Raymond (Connie)
5Terronez; his grandchildren, Jonathan O'Brian, Melissa
6Terronez, Eric Terronez, Stephanie Hernandez, Brandon
7Terronez, Justin Terronez, Ashley Terronez-Gooding, Nicholas
8Hernandez, Lindsey Terronez, Raymond Terronez, and Michael
9Terronez; 15 great-grandchildren with another on the way in
102020; his brothers, Bennie (Belin) and Joe Terronez; and his
11sisters, Nellie Munos, Cruz Rivera, and Delores (Richard)
12Esparza; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Alvino A. Terronez and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Alvino Terronez as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
