SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" Raymond Moore of Moline, who passed away on June 20, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jim Moore was born to Raymond and Sophia (Jensen) Moore in DeWitt on August 13, 1933; he graduated from Grand Mound High School in 1952; he served in the United States Army stateside during the Korean War and greatly enjoyed the Honor Flight to Washington DC several years ago; Jim married Karen (Lewis) Fariss in Bettendorf on February 22, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Upon being honorably discharged, Jim farmed and was a Transportation Driver for Case/IH until retirement; after his retirement from Case, he worked at the Rock Island Sale Barn until age 82; and

WHEREAS, Jim Moore was a farmer at heart who enjoyed all aspects of the farm, especially cattle; he loved time spent with his family and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Jim Moore was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Dirk Moore; his son-in-law, Tim Beranek; his grandson, Louis Beranek; his brothers, Raymond Moore, Jr. and Edward Moore; his brother-in-law, Gary Nosa; his sister-in-law, Beverly Moore; his former wife, Doris Moore Brick; and his wife, Dorothy Moore; and

WHEREAS, Jim Moore is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, James Dean Moore, Jeanine Beranek, Jeff (Angie) Moore, Joleen (Lance) Henning, Diane (William Clinton) Moore, Darsha (Jay) White, Kelly (Steve) Summers, Kory Fariss, and Kevin (Angela) Fariss; his grandchildren, Megan (Kris) Richardson, Jonathan (Samantha) Beranek, Kayla (Mitch) Heiar, Kyle (Cierra Wilder) Moore, Moriah Henning, Savanna Henning, Jenna White, Kendall White, Jensen White, Chloe Summers, Cassidy Summers, Chase Summers, Kristen (A.J.) Crone, Austin Fariss, Lilly Fariss, Audrey Fariss, Lane Fariss, and Landon Fariss; his great-grandchildren, Eli, Lucas, and Henry Richardson; his siblings, Maurita (Jim) Burke, Vince Moore, Dave (Karen) Moore, Laurent (Carol) Moore, and Pam Nosa; his sister-in-law, Lois Moore-Rittmer, and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James "Jim" Raymond Moore and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Moore as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
