SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marion Lloyd Taulbee of Colona, who passed away on May 27, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Taulbee was born in Keysville, Missouri to Blaine and Mary (Hatcher) Taulbee on February 13, 1934; he married Shirley Beverlin in East Moline on December 31, 1955; he served in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Taulbee worked for the former International Harvester Farmall in Rock Island until 1986; following retirement, he read the water meters in Colona for 11 years; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Taulbee loved mowing his lawn on his riding lawn mower, solving puzzles, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; he was mechanically inclined and could fix anything; he was known for his great sense of humor and always having a smile for everyone; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Taulbee was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Shawn Star; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd Taulbee is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley; his children, Alan (Mary) Taulbee, Lisa (Craig) Tillman, Kari Taulbee (Ken Unger), Brian Taulbee, and Scott (Lori) Taulbee; his 12 grandchildren; his 17 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Shirley Winthurst, Tom Taulbee, and his twin brother James "Floyd" (Lois) Taulbee; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marion Lloyd Taulbee and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lloyd Taulbee as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
