SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harold L. Watson of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on November 16, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Watson was born in Moline to Frazier and
6Agnes (McConnell) Watson on February 13, 1949; a highly
7decorated veteran of the United States Army, he earned the
8Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Army Commendation
9Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge during the Vietnam War; he
10married Bonnie Christine in Milan on May 15, 1968; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harold Watson proudly owned and operated Watson
12Excavating Inc. for 40 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Harold Watson enjoyed restoring his '66 Chevy
14Nova; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Harold Watson was preceded in death by his parents
16and his sisters, Roberta Patterson and Florence Lude; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Harold Watson is survived by his wife of 50 years,
18Bonnie; his children, Shawn (Darci) Watson, Scott Watson, and
19Kristi (Zack Vervaecke) Watson; his grandchildren, Alyssa
20Watson, Dylan Watson, Makayla Vervaecke, and Abby Watson; and

1his siblings, Connell (JoAnne) Watson, Ramona (Dick) McMeekan,
2Karen Burton, and Bud (Lois) Watson; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Harold L. Watson and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Harold Watson as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
