SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald L. "Ron" Modrich of Huntley, who
4passed away on August 4, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Modrich was born in Chicago to Jack and Martha
6(Ides) Modrich on February 17, 1939; he served in the U.S. Air
7Force as a staff sergeant; he married Judy Hubbard at St.
8Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake on August 22, 1964;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ron Modrich started the first Crystal Lake
11Ambulance Service in 1971 and served as the first chief,
12holding the distinction of being one of the first EMTs in
13Illinois; he opened Ron's Tire and Service Station in November
14of 1977 in Crystal Lake, which is still operated by his son;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ron Modrich loved to watch his son, Rick, race at
17the Geneva Raceway, and soon became part of the action when he
18brought his tow truck to the track, becoming known as "Wrecker
19Ron"; his greatest joy was his family, especially watching his
20grandchildren in their various sporting events and activities
21and visiting his daughter and family in Florida; his other
22interests included the selling of race track safety

1communication equipment to the race teams, and the building,
2repairing, and selling of computers, as well as installing
3complete office systems; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ron Modrich was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann
5Seton Parish in Crystal Lake and the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
6Knights of Columbus Council #10678; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Ron Modrich was preceded in death by his parents;
8his sister, Shirley; and his brother-in-law, Robert Richards;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ron Modrich is survived by his wife, Judy; his
11daughter, Janice (Brad) Price; his son, Rick (Lisa) Modrich;
12his grandchildren, Ashley (Dominick) Lucarelli, Dylan Sowers,
13and Ben and Cole Modrich; his sister, Marty Richards; and his
14brothers, Eugene, twin brother Robert (Nancy), and Dennis;
15therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Ronald L. "Ron" Modrich, and extend our sincere condolences to
19his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
