SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Steven R. Williams of Bloomington, who passed away on July 2, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Steve Williams was born in Normal to Robert and Mary (McCammon) Williams on June 26, 1969; he graduated from Bloomington High School in 1987, where he was a member of the speech team and was involved in the theater program; he graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where he was a history major, a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and played string and electric bass in the university jazz band; he graduated magna cum laude from Valparaiso Law School, where he clerked for the dean of the law school; he married Sara E. Klug in Wausau, Wisconsin on July 10, 1993; and

WHEREAS, Steve Williams joined the law firm of Williams & Swee, Ltd. in Bloomington in 1995, specializing in workers compensation and Social Security; and

WHEREAS, Steve Williams was a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Illinois Workers Compensation Association; and

WHEREAS, Steve Williams is survived by his wife, Sara; his children, Clara and Parker Williams; his parents; his sister, Jennifer L. (Paul) Jensen; his brother, Eric M. (Betsy) Williams; his parents-in-law, Andrew and Donna Krieg; his brothers-in-law, John (Deb) and Dave (Michelle) Klug; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Steven R. Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steve Williams as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
