SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward A. C. Streed of Waukegan, who
4passed away on May 28, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Streed was born in Waukegan to Edwin and
6Elizabeth Streed on May 17, 1928; he attended Glen Flora
7Elementary School and Waukegan Township High School; he served
8in the United States Air Force as a meteorologist in Alaska,
9retiring with the rank of major; he earned his bachelor's and
10master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of
11Illinois; he married Mary Frances Patterson in Indianapolis in
121957; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Edward Streed worked for the Lake County Highway
14Department for 32 years, 12 of which he served as
15superintendent; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Edward Streed was a lifelong member of the First
17United Methodist Church of Waukegan; his pastimes included
18playing golf at the Bonnie Brook Golf Course, playing handball
19at the YMCA, and amateur photography; he loved spending time
20with his grandchildren, and his family was his greatest joy;

1    WHEREAS, Edward Streed was preceded in death by his parents
2and his sister, Betty Klema; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Edward Streed is survived by his wife of 61 years,
4Mary Fran; his children, Karen Streed, Laurie (Daniel) Coad,
5Sara (Jeff) Dick, and Jim (Chris) Streed; eight grandchildren;
6four great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Jack Patterson;
7and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Edward A. C. Streed, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Edward Streed as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
