SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Annie S. Holsten of Crystal Lake, who passed away on May 6, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Annie Holsten was born in McHenry to Nikolaus and Anna (Klintworth) Tietjen on July 1, 1929; she graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School and married John Holsten on October 23, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Annie Holsten worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Bauer Oil Company in Crystal Lake; she also kept books for her husband's service station and automotive businesses; and

WHEREAS, Annie Holsten had a passion for gardening and always enjoyed working in her yard; and

WHEREAS, Annie Holsten was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her infant daughter, Carol; and

WHEREAS, Annie Holsten is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Don) Freese; her son, Jim (JoAnn) Holsten; her grandchildren, Rebecca (Larry) Nakamura, Rachel (Mike) Nicholson, Jessica (Derek) Loverich, and Leah and Tori Holsten; and her great-grandchildren, Calista and Dryden Nicholson and Matthew and Natalie Loverich; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Annie S. Holsten, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Annie Holsten as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
