SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marvin E. Bauer of McHenry, who passed
4away on February 21, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was born in Ringwood to Edward and
6Olivia (Kattner) Bauer on July 21, 1938; he graduated from
7McHenry East High School in 1956; he was a member of the Army
8Reserve; he married Kathryn Hiller at St. John's Catholic
9Church in Johnsburg on August 19, 1961; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was employed as a carpenter at George
11Hiller and Son for over 30 years; he also owned his own
12business, Custom Cabinets by Marv; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
14Church in McHenry, where he was an usher for many years; he was
15a member of the Catholic Order of Forresters, where he was a
16Legion of Honor member and recording secretary; he coached for
17the McHenry Baseball Association for many years; his
18grandchildren meant the world to him, and he never missed a
19single sporting event; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer was preceded in death by his parents;
21his in-laws, Henry and Lorraine Hiller; his brothers, Urban,

1Roland, Warren, and George Bauer; and his nephews, Randy and
2Gordon Bauer; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Marvin Bauer is survived by his wife of 56 years,
4Kathryn; his children, Debbie (Rich) Miller, David (Liane)
5Bauer, and Jill (Mark) Majercik; his grandchildren, Kristen
6(Korey), Meagan, Jennifer, Olivia, Jack, Allie, Casie, and
7Carlie; his sisters, Lu Ann (Harry) Smith and Joan (Chuck)
8Miller; his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bauer and Georgia Bauer;
9his devoted caregiver, Kateryna Garkava; and his many nieces
10and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Marvin E. Bauer and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Marvin Bauer as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
