SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James "Jim" F. Leach of Chesterfield, who
4passed away on February 18, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Leach was born in Chesterfield to Howard A.
6and Anna May (Rigsbey) Leach on July 8, 1934; he graduated from
7Carlinville High School in 1952 and attended the University of
8Illinois for two years; he proudly served in the United States
9Army from 1957 until 1959; he married Karen Stahl in Palmyra on
10April 29, 1972; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jim Leach farmed in Chesterfield with his father
12and uncle and retired in 2008; he then enjoyed his paper route
13and delivered the Alton Telegraph for over ten years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jim Leach enjoyed camping, gardening, watching
15Western movies, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals; he was
16also loyal to all of the sports teams at the University of
17Illinois and followed them with great enthusiasm; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jim Leach was preceded in death by his parents and
19his brother, Robert A. Leach; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jim Leach is survived by his wife, Karen; and his

1daughters, Stephanie (Chris) Edwards and Marcie (Steve) Adams;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5James F. "Jim" Leach and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Jim Leach as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
