SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Helen Theresa Burns of Carlinville, who
4passed away on February 22, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Theresa Burns was one of ten children born in
6Carlinville to Joseph L. and Helena (Koster) Costello on
7February 19, 1934; she graduated from Carlinville High School
8in 1952; she married John W. Burns at St. Joseph Catholic
9Church in Carlinville on November 24, 1956; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Theresa Burns retired from Prairie Glove Factory
11after 19 years of employment; she also worked as an in-home
12caregiver for several years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Theresa Burns was a lifetime member of St. Joseph
14Catholic Church and Saints Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in
15Carlinville; she enjoyed gardening and loved the company of her
16cats and dogs; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Theresa Burns was preceded in death by her
18parents; her sisters, Catherine Atteberry, Margaret Fritzsche,
19Caroline Regli, Irene Joiner, Marie Young, Florence Burritt;
20and her brothers, Joseph (Tony) Costello, Joseph (Bud)
21Costello, and Paul (Beak) Costello; and

1    WHEREAS, Theresa Burns is survived by her husband, John;
2her daughter, Deb (Dave) Rathgeb; and her many nieces and
3nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Helen Theresa Burns and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Theresa Burns as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
