SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death Zachary A. "Zac" Short, who passed away on February 15, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Zac Short was born in Phoenix to Richard and Judith (Austin) Short on June 18, 1990; he moved to Illinois with his family in 1997 and graduated from Minooka Community High School in 2008; he attended Arizona State University, where he studied in the digital culture program in the School of Arts, Media and Engineering; and

WHEREAS, Zac Short co-founded and operated an apparel printing business and worked in various capacities in the restaurant industry; and

WHEREAS, Zac Short was an avid disc golfer and a loyal Chicago Cubs fan; he loved spending time with his family and friends, particularly his younger brother, Alexander, and his many cousins; he will be remembered for his constant smile and for his huge heart and willingness to help anyone he could; and

WHEREAS, Zac Short was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard J. Short, William E. Austin Jr., and Geraldine A. Austin, and his uncle, Steven Allmandinger; and

WHEREAS, Zac Short is survived by his parents, Richard and Judith; his brother, Alexander; his grandmother, Eva M. Short; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Zachary A. "Zac" Short, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Zac Short as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
