SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Nancy H. Strieter of McHenry, who passed away on February 4, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Strieter was born in Evanston to Carroll and Elsie (Tanner) Huntington on June 26, 1927; she married Richard Strieter in Evanston on December 6, 1952; she was a resident of Morton Grove for over 30 years and then Harvard for 15 years; she spent the last 16 years in McHenry near her daughter; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Strieter received her master's degree in library science and worked as a librarian for many years in Harvard and Glenview; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Strieter was an active member of The Harvard Woman's Club; she had a great love for animals, especially horses, cats, and dogs; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Strieter was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard; and

WHEREAS, Nancy Strieter is survived by her daughters, Sally (Patrick) Ramsay and Ann (Monty) Huntington-Smith; her sister, Carolyn Huntington; her grandchildren, John Richard (Jillian) and Nicole Angela Ramsay; and her great-grandchildren, Ella Grace and Clara Elizabeth Ramsay; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Nancy H. Strieter, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Nancy Strieter as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
