SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harold E. Gist of Taylorville, who passed away on January 30, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gist was born in Jeisyville to Grant and Helen (Reese) Gist on April 21, 1941; he married Gwendolyn Stockon in 1970; they later divorced; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gist worked in a factory; he also drove a taxi in Taylorville; his most recent job was working for the Christian County Senior Citizens; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gist was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Virginia Traxler and Beatrice Skrobot; his brothers, Elwood "Woody" Gist, Robert Gist, and Charles "Chuck" Gist; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gist is survived by his son, Harold (Terenia) Gist II; his daughter, Vivian "Missy" Lee Neff; his grandchildren, Ashley Noel Basil, Ebony Kelsey, Jesse Perry, Brittany Neal, and Tyler Gist; his six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Beauchamp and Eileen Sallade; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Harold E. Gist and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harold Gist as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
