SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Tara Latrice Brewer of Broadview, who
4passed away January 17, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was born in Melrose Park to Lacy
6Brewer Jr. and Hattie Brewer on August 25, 1972; she attended
7Roosevelt Elementary School in Broadview and graduated from
8Proviso East High School in Maywood; she continued her
9education at Benedictine University, where she earned both her
10bachelor's degree in business administration and her Master of
11Business Administration; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was employed by the Housing Authority
13of Cook County in Chicago, where she held several positions,
14including General Clerk, Office Assistant, Housing Specialist,
15and Housing Program, Manager, her most recent position; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was elected Broadview Trustee in 2015,
17and she enjoyed participating in various community events and
18charity functions, including working with A&T Trucking Company
19to provide needy families in Pembrook with food, clothing, and
20medical supplies; she diligently worked to collect funds to
21help build the new Maywood Fine Arts Center; she also donated
22personal funds, in addition to volunteering, to help the Fine

1Arts Center's local events; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was known as a mover and a shaker who
3never let grass grow under her feet; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer is survived by her parents; and her
5son, Dereon T. Brewer-Adams; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Tara Latrice Brewer and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Tara Brewer as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
