SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James Day "Jim" Blazier of Harvard, who passed away on December 1, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Jim Blazier was born in Harvard to James and Elizabeth Blazier on August 17, 1951; he married Dixie Berryhill in Harvard on November 7, 1970; and

WHEREAS, Jim Blazier retired in 2014 after running his own business, Blazier Trucking, for many years; and

WHEREAS, Jim Blazier enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, storytelling, reading books to his grandchildren, and having breakfast with his friends; he was active in his church, participating in many different activities and on committees throughout the years; he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Jim Blazier was preceded in death by his father, James F. Blazier, and his brother, Dan Blazier; and

WHEREAS, Jim Blazier is survived by his children, Carla Sipe, Jessica (Eric) Sugalski, and Hannah (Mike) Jesski; his mother, Elizabeth Blazier; his brother, Roger (Dale) Blazier; his sisters, Robin (Al) Sack and Lynette Blazier; his grandchildren, Rachael and Jacob Hayes, James, Jonathon, and Kaitlynn Jesski, and Annica, Julia, and Nathan Sugalski; his great-granddaughter, Amelia Hayes; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James Day "Jim" Blazier, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Blazier as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
