SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James J. Salata of Genoa City, Wisconsin, formerly of North Chicago, who passed away on October 8, 2017; and

WHEREAS, James Salata was born to John L. Sr. and Sylvia Salata on November 6, 1945; he graduated from North Chicago High School in 1963; and

WHEREAS, James Salata worked as a firefighter for the City of North Chicago; he then worked as an EMT and firefighter for the City of Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, After his retirement from the City of Waukegan, he enjoyed spending his days with his fiancee, friends, and family; he will be remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, patience, love of animals, and willingness to be there for others; and

WHEREAS, James Salata was preceded in death by his brother, John L. Salata Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Gene Steffens; and

WHEREAS, James Salata is survived by his loving fiancee, Virginia Fuentes; his sisters, Vivian Steffens, Ruth (Robert) Larsen, Felisa (Steven) Lee, and Susan (Mark Skweres) Salata; and his many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James J. Salata and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Salata as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
