SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

220 ILCS 5/9-105 new

Amends the Public Utilities Act. Requires the Illinois Commerce Commission to issue a report evaluating the degree to which rate structures can create incentives for economic development in the State. Provides for repeal of the provisions on January 1, 2020. Effective immediately.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding Section 9-105 as follows:

(220 ILCS 5/9-105 new)

Sec. 9-105. Rate structure incentives study. No later than June 30, 2019, the Commission shall issue a report evaluating the degree to which rate structures can create incentives for economic development in this State.

This Section is repealed on January 1, 2020.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
