HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of William Sommers "Will" Freiburger, who passed away on February 20, 2018, at the age of 17; and

WHEREAS, Will Freiburger was a senior at Batavia High School; early on, he realized how fragile and precious life was and decided that he would live life to the fullest; he became involved in numerous school activities, including serving as treasurer of both the Key Club and the student council; he was also a lead camp counselor at a social skills camp for autism; and

WHEREAS, Will Freiburger was an excellent student, making the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, and the National Social Studies Honor Society; he was also named an Illinois State Scholar and was among the top 10% of high school seniors across the State; and

WHEREAS, Will Freiburger loved to travel and was able to experience many destinations all over the world; he visited South America on a charitable service trip; and

WHEREAS, Will Freiburger enjoyed all sports and played tennis for two years; he also enjoyed listening to music and hanging out with his friends; he had a fondness for wearing a leopard-print bathrobe, colorful socks, and Birkenstock sandals, as comfort was important to him; he loved to eat and was always on the search for the next foodie destination; and

WHEREAS, Will Freiburger was an avid supporter of organ and tissue donation programs, and his passing will provide up to 170 recipients a second chance on life; and

WHEREAS, Will Freiburger is survived by his loving parents, Jane and John Freiburger; his brothers, Keegan, Luke, and Ian Freiburger; his grandmother, Sally Sommers; his grandfather, Ed Freiburger; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Sommers "Will" Freiburger, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Will Freiburger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
