HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives would like to congratulate Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors on winning the 2018 NBA Championship; and

WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala, a native of Springfield, played basketball at Lanphier High School; during his time at Lanphier, he won All-Conference academic honors and was the Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year in 2002; and

WHEREAS, The Golden State Warriors entered the playoffs with 58 wins and 24 losses; Andre Iguodala averaged 8.1 points, 2.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game throughout the 2017-2018 season; and

WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors flew through the first two rounds of the playoffs with ease, winning eight out of ten games and advancing to the NBA conference finals against Houston with a very interesting seven-game series; and

WHEREAS, After Andre Iguodala and his team made it to the NBA finals, they continued their streak by bringing their A game to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a back-to-back showdown for the Finals; and

WHEREAS, The Golden State Warriors were able to close out the series in Cleveland, Ohio with a game four 108-85 victory against the Cavaliers, sweeping the Finals for the third championship in four years; and

WHEREAS, Andre Iguodala's accomplishments include three-time NBA Champion, NBA Finals MVP in 2015, NBA All-Star in 2012, NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2014, NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2011, NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2005, NBA Rookie Challenge MVP in 2006, and a Gold Medal at the 2012 Olympics in London; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Andre Iguodala and the Golden State Warriors on winning their third NBA Championship in four years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we wish Andre Iguodala and his team many more years of success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Andre Iguodala and his family as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
